The car industry is known for putting out videos. There is no better way to show off the latest and greatest by actually letting your potential customers hear and see the car in action. In the tuning industry, dyno runs are a staple as tuning shops like TopSpeed Motorsports squeeze out every last bit of power out of these impressive rides. However, boring 3rd gear pull videos are a dime a dozen…so we decided to come to the table with something completely different.

The goal with these dyno videos is to show the unique details of the car while showing the story behind the process. By including more than the car accelerating on rollers, we are able to bring the viewer closer to the experience and let them see the car in action.

The video was shared on forums, Facebook and other outlets to help promote TopSpeed Motorsports online.

What challenges were you experiencing with your prior website and email newsletter? How was it impacting your business?

Our company’s website and marketing materials years prior has always suffered from ‘information overload”. We struggled on how to effectively communicate our services to our target audience without overwhelming them with too much information.

Overall it impacted our website and email marketing efforts quite severely. Our marketing team would have frustrating weekly meetings trying to collaborate and figure out how to improve our analytic performance.

Why did you choose oneninety8.com?

Looking for a credible marketing consultant is quite a challenge with so many options available. What separated Robb from oneninety8.com was his ability quickly dissect our current issues, clearly understand our goals and most importantly his capability to present a logistical plan moving forward.

After implementing the changes suggested by oneninety8, what were the immediate results?

The changes oneninety8.com made we’re seen immediately. The website overhaul allowed us to present key information to our target audience in a sensible fashion. We we’re surprised in such a short period of time how all our analytics improved across the board including an increase in unique visitors, length of time on site and page views. Most importantly it was great to finally see our website contact forms finally generating credible leads.

oneninety8.com also provided us with an email marketing strategy to use with our current database. The new format gave us a structured approach for when and how to effectively provide information that was relevant to our audience. We again we’re astonished on how our database reacted to the new approach; honestly we increased our open rate to over 60%. These we’re numbers we’ve never seen before!!!

How was your experience?

Overall oneninety8.com has exceeded our expectations with results our company has never experienced in years past. We now have a web presence that complements the solutions we provide and confidence that our target audience information needs are effectively being met.

Social media marketing has become a powerhouse for generating new customers and leads for businesses locally as well as globally. Companies are now looking at marketing with this rapidly expanding platform as a way to grow sales and interact more with their customer base.

However, there are several things you need to keep in mind as you look to marketing with social media for your business to make sure you are getting the biggest return on your investment.

6 Tips For Success: Marketing With Social Media

Here are some tips from the offices of oneninety8 to get you started on the right track.

Avoid the shiny key syndrome – There is always a company that is looking to be the next Twitter or Facebook. While it may be enticing to become an early adopter, you could just end up spending a lot of time on a small start up that never takes off. As a company, you need to let the market dictate where you spend your time and money. Stick with the tried and true until a solid reputation has been built up by the new comers to the game.

Do market research – The biggest mistake made when marketing with social media is the complete lack of market research. Yes, social media outlets like Twitter have a huge amount of users, but are they the users your company needs? Your job when marketing your business is to go to where your potential customers are interacting and pull them back to your products and services. If you are not doing the beginning research into where your users are interacting, you can spend a lot of time building up profiles that convert terribly. Marketing with social media works if you do the right research. It fails terribly if you spend a lot of time in a space that does not covert well for your business.

Organize your time effectively – One of the easiest things to do with social marketing is to throw a huge amount of time and resources at writing blog posts and promoting on websites. However, social media marketing does not replace traditional marketing for your business and you can find yourself turning social media into a full time job. You are not out to be a pro-blogger or social media guru…you are looking to grow your business. By using tools like Hootsuite to schedule Twitter and Facebook posts and scheduling your blog posts at the beginning of the week (easily done with WordPress), you can more effectively use your marketing time and prevent social media from becoming a full-time gig.

Keep flexibility – The rules that work in marketing with social media today might not necessarily work in a year. By keeping flexibility and being able to adapt to changing times, you can keep your success rate high. This requires you and your company to keep an open mind to new methods and be willing to test these new methods even if there is a possibility they might not work. There are going to be misfires and roadblocks in the process, but those that are willing to test and adapt will succeed in the long term.

Focus on conversation – Social media was built around the foundation of conversation. One of the reasons it will convert so well for your company is because of that interpersonal relationship that your potential and current customers built through your online profiles. Social media is not a place to flood your links and sales pages, it is a place to start the conversation between your firm and your clients to build a relationship. When you focus on this conversation and open dialogue, your conversion rates will improve. The more you get desperate and spam your potential customer base, the more you will put off these same people to your competition. Users of social profiles are looking for a connection and it is your job to provide it.

Keep it viral – Social profile spaces like Twitter and Facebook are great places to hold contests and giveaways to help promote your business. While you are looking to get people to interact with your site and your brand, do not forget to have a requirement of the process to be to return back to that outlet and share their experience. With social media, it is not just about getting customers to land on your pages, it is also about getting that experience shared so you can attract even more new customers. The viral nature of marketing with social media is the driving force that makes it so powerful. Everything should come full circle.

As you look to market with social media, be sure to keep these tips at heart and you will see success. Every market is different and your ability to know your market and change with the times will determine your success when operating in the fastest growing space in marketing.

When we do website consultation and design, there is one aspect of company website structure that we consistently see go wrong. 9 times out of 10, companies try to make is trying to make their website everything to everybody.

When your potential clients and customer land on your website, there are several features they are looking for directly:

Who you are

What you offer

Will what you offer fit their needs

What are your results

How to get in touch with you

Unless you are operating an e-commerce site where your visitors are purchasing your products and services directly off of your website, your company’s website is not the close. You should structure your website to facilitate the contact and conversation. You and your employees are the close that fills the needs of your customers or clients.

When you try to make your website the medium that closes the deal, you are going to have extremely low conversion rates as your competition that is starting conversation is swallowing up all of the business.

We use website content, blogs and other social media outlets to get that conversation started…not to be the end all be all.

When you are looking at your company’s website structure, are you starting the conversation and making it easy for your visitors to get in touch with you?

Does my business need a blog? The number one question we are asked on a daily basis. Before you jump straight into building up a business blog on your company website, there needs to be an understanding on what a blog is and how that can benefit how you do business and yearly growth over time.

What is a blog for a business?

When thinking of business blogging, you really need to try to stay away from conventional definitions in relation to blogging. Your company will not be publishing content about the lunch they served today or notes from the last company meeting (not unless it is a blog setup for internal means). You are looking to setup a blog on your company website for several very specific purposes that define what a blog means to a small to large business.

Create regular fresh content to invite search engine spiders to regularly visit your website (higher indexing, higher rankings).

Create content that attracts other websites to link to your website (higher links = higher rankings).

Publish relevant and problem solving content your potential clients are searching to solve (free leads through organic search).

To start the customer to company communication.

When you start thinking of a business blog through these parameters, a blog for a business is more clearly defined as a method of posting relevant content on your website that attracts clients and links in a manner that is easy to manage and schedule.

A business blog that is structured correctly should solve problems on two sides of the coin. Your business should be getting in more leads to increase annual revenue while providing value to your potential clients through your content.

Where most businesses go wrong with blogs

Most business blogs with the right intentions but end up going down the wrong path. While news and press releases are important to keep the public informed about what you are completing, that is not what your potential clients are searching for online when they are looking to solve an issue.

When a person is searching for the best steakhouse in your area, are they searching for your specific brand name or are they searching for “how to find the best steak in Atlanta”? If you are running a multi-billion dollar retailer, are your customers searching for your brand name or reviews on the products you carry?

By tapping into what your client base is actually searching for, you can tailor your content around definition and how-to articles that directly solve the issue they are searching for online. By solving this issue, you are able to strengthen your brand online and be the solution.

Business blogging is solution based content marketing.

Your customers are searching the web to fulfill their needs at an increasing rate and it is up to you and your company to tap into this valuable resource. Your website is your new business card.

To add to the changing atmosphere, your potential clients are using the suggestions and recommendations of their friends and family online through Facebook before they even start the search. We live in the day of instant information and if your company is not on the cutting edge…you will get left behind.

Our job is to bridge the gap between your business and social media by creating assets online that will generate these free leads for your business. By incorporating numerous strategies including blogging, social media profiles and marketing strategies, we are able to position your company and your brand in front of the eyes of potential customers and clients. Correctly positioning your company online is a multi-stage process that brings your website to the top of search engine rankings and the first to be recommended through friends and family.
