About

The story behind the 198

One part media company, one part systems shop. Run by someone who has been publishing on the internet since before "content marketing" was a job.

Built by a builder

oneninety8 was founded by Robb Sutton, who started building online audiences in 2008. The niche blogs came first: millions of readers, real ad revenue, and every lesson about digital publishing learned in public.

That history shapes the work. We are not a slide-deck agency. We build the thing itself: the website, the content engine, the email flows, the automations behind them. And we don't disappear at launch. Most clients keep us running the whole engine, publishing the blog, the social channels, and the email, month after month.

The 198 has been there since the first blog. It stuck because the idea behind it stuck: brands get built by showing up, over and over, with work worth someone's time.

What we believe

Own your audienceRented reach disappears when the algorithm changes. An email list and a site that ranks are assets you keep.
Systems over hustleIf growth depends on you remembering to do things, it stalls. Every engagement ends with automation doing the remembering.
Craft mattersAutomating mediocre content just gets you ignored faster. The media has to be worth the click.
