oneninety8 (“we,” “us”) operates oneninety8.com. This policy explains what information we collect on this site, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what you type into our forms, we use standard analytics to see how the site is used, we only send marketing email to people who ask for it, and we don’t sell or rent your information to anyone.
Information you give us
We collect what you enter when you use one of the forms on this site:
- Free Teardown and contact form: your name, email address and website, plus anything else you choose to add, such as your company, what you want to be found for, timing, or other details.
- Booking an Engine Teardown: your name, email address, company website, phone number (required for in-person meetings), the time you pick, whether you’d like to meet in person or by video, and any notes.
- Marketing Engine Scorecard: your first name, email address, company, website, industry, location and annual revenue range (if you pick one), your answers, and the score they produce.
- Hire vs. Engine calculator: your name, email address and company when you ask us to email you the side-by-side, along with the numbers you entered.
- Email signup box: your email address.
We use this information to reply to you, hold the call you booked, send you the results you asked for, and, if we end up working together, run that engagement.
Marketing email
We keep our email list in Mailchimp. You’re added to it and may receive our articles and updates if you:
- take the Scorecard (the box asking to email you your score and occasional marketing tips is required, and we say so on the form),
- sign up with the email box at the end of an article or in the site footer, or
- tick the optional “also send me occasional articles” box on the Teardown or booking forms.
If you send a Teardown request or book a call without ticking that box, we still keep your contact details in Mailchimp so our records are in one place, but they’re marked so you never receive marketing email from us.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. One click takes you off the list, and you can also just reply and ask. To keep what we send relevant, we note which form you used, the industry you chose, your Scorecard result, and the campaign that brought you to the site. Mailchimp may also record whether you open our emails or click their links.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location, device type, how you arrived, and whether you sent a form or booked a call. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. This data reaches us in aggregate; we don’t use it to identify you personally. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
The site also remembers, in your own browser’s storage, how you first arrived (for example the site that linked to us or the campaign link you clicked). If you later send one of our forms, that source goes along with it so we know which of our marketing is working. It stays on your device until you clear your browser’s site data.
Our hosting and caching layer may set technical cookies that make the site load faster. These don’t track you across other sites.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only parties that handle it are the service providers we rely on to run the site and follow up with you:
- our hosting provider, which runs the site, keeps server logs and delivers our email,
- Mailchimp (Intuit), which holds our email list and sends our marketing email,
- Google, for Analytics and for Google Calendar, where calls you book are scheduled.
Each processes data under its own privacy terms. We’ll disclose information if the law requires it. If oneninety8 is ever sold or merged, this information may transfer with the business, and this policy would still apply to it.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries, booking records and correspondence as long as they’re useful for responding to you and for our business records. You stay on the email list until you unsubscribe; after that, Mailchimp keeps a record of the unsubscribe so you aren’t added back by mistake.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time with the link in any email. If you want to know what information we hold about you, want it corrected, or want it deleted, email rsutton@oneninety8.com and we’ll take care of it. If you’d rather not use the forms at all, that same address reaches us directly.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information you send us, and the site is served over HTTPS. No method of sending or storing data online is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is for businesses and organizations and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the effective date above.
